Prayer Ministry
“Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8
Prayer is the most powerful tool the Lord has given us and it is available to us at all times. The St. John’s Prayer Ministry Team makes good use of this important resource by providing strength, guidance and blessings for all who need it. Our Team is a group of individuals whose mission is to emphasize the importance of prayer in our church and to lift up prayers for all who ask.
Prayer Chain
The St. John’s prayer chain is a network of individuals who will receive prayer requests and thanksgivings, forward them to the next available person in the network, and will pray immediately for each request. It is a wonderful way for many people to pray for a specific need.
To place a prayer request on the prayer chain, you may call 703-222-2081.
- If the prayer request is for person other than yourself, please get consent before placing on prayer chain.
- Only the information provided will be used. Information will be used exactly as it is given to coordinator of prayer chain.
- None of the information provided will be made public in any way.
Prayer Room
If you would like to have a space for private prayer and meditation, we have a small prayer room available. It is located on the lower level of the Donaldson Hall building next to the Preschool office.
What’s the Good of Prayer?
We look upon prayer as a means of getting things for ourselves;
the Bible’s idea of prayer is that we may get to know God.
It is not so true that “prayer changes things” as
that prayer changes me and I change things.
